Job Summary
The General Manager is responsible for developing the corporate strategy within this unit, to meet company revenue and market goals, including product and service development, managing staff to deliver the service, and consulting with the Company’s Directors to set annual revenue targets. Also, to ensure that deals and contracts are well-structured, with the proper project and financial feasibility studies carried out.
To assume responsibility for the sourcing and screening of new sales opportunities and to develop project designs with the Design Engineer and the Field Development and Installation teams. Meet regularly with both teams to discuss prospective and current projects with regards to design, status, follow-up, snags, after-sales, and maintenance works. To oversee site assessments and on-site services are followed up in a professional and efficient manner.
The position requires a good knowledge of existing and emerging solar technology and energy markets.

Responsibilities
- Build, develop and strengthen new business relationships to market residential, commercial, and complex renewable energy projects.
- Discuss, negotiate, and finalise deals.
- Conduct relevant analysis and feasibility studies for customers together with the Design and Technical Unit, ensuring that final product is as per customer’s demands and requirements.
- Supervise the projects’ applications via REWS, Planning Authority and Enemalta, based on the schemes and grants on offer at the time, ensuring all applications are in order and processed in time.
- Build a good sales team to develop a network of potential clients.
- Provide management with reports/feedback on customer needs and interests, foreseen challenges, competitors activities and potential for new products and services.
- Attend networking events, tradeshows, conferences, etc., and maintain regular interaction with key stakeholders in the industry.
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial and business development capabilities with proven success in developing and marketing new business ventures and relationships
- Experience in sales and/or project management, in any of these industries; Real Estate, Construction, Engineering Consultancy, Electrical Projects, & Renewable Technologies.
- Experience and full capabilities to head a unit, involving complex projects
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with great interpersonal skills
- Able to easily develop strong relationships with all key stakeholders and decision-makers including government officials.
- Ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously and to grow with the company’s needs.
- Excellent prioritising, follow-up, time management, and organisational skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations tailored to a specific audience.
- Openness to learn about new products as market conditions and technologies change.
